MSC Australia New Zealand Line WALLABY first flight arrived at Xiamen port
On August 26, MSC ELENI sailed into Xiamen Port and successfully docked at berth 2# of Xiamen International Container Terminal, marking the successful first voyage of the Australia-New Zealand Line (route code: WAL) operated by Mediterranean shipping.
It is worth mentioning that this route is currently Xiamen Port's only direct container shipping route to New Zealand, direct to Auckland, Bluff, Littleton, Wellington, Napier and Tauranga and other cities, from Xiamen to New Zealand originally needed more than 30 days of voyage shortened to 25 days, greatly reducing logistics costs, improve transport efficiency.
In recent years, China's export trade to Oceania has shown a rapid growth trend, especially the export volume of automobiles, luggage, aluminum and other commodities has increased significantly.
The opening of the MSC Australia New Zealand Line has injected new vitality into the trade between foreign trade enterprises in the hinterland of the port and Oceania, built a more convenient and direct shipping channel, and ensured the smooth flow of the "two chains".

According to statistics, from January to July 2024, MSC's container throughput in Xiamen Port increased by more than 17%, of which foreign trade transit business grew significantly, and international transit and internal transit both showed double-digit growth.
