According to the report, the seven shipping companies are: SeaLead Shipping, Sinotrans Container Lines, TS Lines, Emirates Shipping Line, Honghai Container Shipping (RCL), Koryo Shipping (KMTC Line and Sinokor Merchant Marine.

The AMX route aims to provide companies with reliable and efficient transportation solutions and improve the efficiency of transportation from Asia to the Mexican market. The new route will be the first flight from Shanghai on April 30, calling the port order: Shanghai - Qingdao - Busan - Manzanillo - Shanghai.

According to industry consulting firm Linerlytica, the seven shipping companies plan to deploy seven 3,000 to 4,000 TEU container ships on the route.

For this new route, Sea Link Shipping said that Mexico is the assembly and manufacturing base for products in North America, the Asia-Mexico route is crucial to the global supply chain, and the AMX route not only complements Sea Link's existing routes to the Americas, but also provides broader network coverage.

Tan Hua Joo, an analyst at Linerlytica, said: "The Mexican market is currently experiencing rapid container cargo growth, which is being closely watched by small and medium-sized shipping companies."

It is worth noting that since 2024, with the rapid growth of trade demand in the Mexican market, liner giants including CMA CGM, Mediterranean Shipping (MSC), etc., have also opened the Far East-Mexico route.

On May 28, 2024, CMA CGM announced the launch of Mexico Express M2X, designed to optimise transport from the Far East to the west coast of Mexico in response to new market demands.

On June 21, 2024, MSC announced the launch of the DHALIA route to provide additional capacity for cargo transport from Asia to the west coast of Mexico.
