MSC Houston V hit a storm and 15 containers went overboard
According to foreign media news, on March 20 local time, a container ship operated by MSC was sailing in the Atlantic Ocean near Portugal when some container cargo fell into the sea.

The vessel involved is MSC Houston V (IMO 9463281), with a capacity of 4,432 TEU, flying the Portuguese flag and built in 2010.

The ship's AIS signal showed it had left the Greek port of Piraeus on March 15 and was heading for Liverpool. En route, Storm Martinho swept through the waters off Cape St. Vincent, causing the ship to experience rough sea conditions and winds of up to 48 knots.

The accident caused at least 15 containers of the MSC Houston V to plunge into the sea, while many of the remaining containers on board also collapsed, partially hanging on the starboard side near the stern.

The ship then sought refuge in the Spanish port of Vigo and waited for the storm to pass, arriving at the port in the morning local time on Friday, March 21.
