Guangzhou Port has introduced a new offer extending the no-piling period to 30 days
The Guangzhou Port Authority announced on the 12th that from January to April this year, the throughput of foreign trade cargo at Guangzhou Port increased by 17.49% year-on-year, and the throughput of foreign trade containers rose by 21.91%, achieving double-digit growth.
In April, the throughput of foreign trade goods and containers at Guangzhou Port increased by 19.23% and 20.37% respectively year-on-year. Among them, the container volume in the ASEAN direction increased by 30.88% year-on-year, and its proportion in the total foreign trade volume rose to 20.27%. The EU route network has been continuously optimized, with two new direct flights added. The business performance of the countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative was particularly outstanding, increasing by 49.48% year-on-year.
Guangzhou Port currently has 283 container shipping routes and 177 foreign trade routes. Among them, there are 150 container shipping routes to the countries jointly building the "Belt and Road Initiative", accounting for more than 86% of all international shipping routes of Guangzhou Port.
To assist foreign trade enterprises in addressing difficulties and challenges, the Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port has also launched a series of targeted measures to benefit foreign trade enterprises and provide services: First, the free storage period for ordinary heavy containers exported on the North American route has been extended. From May 15th to July 31st this year, the free storage period for ordinary heavy containers exported on the North American route entering the Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port has been extended to 30 days. Second, from May 10th to July 31st, there will be no restrictions on the entry time of heavy containers at the Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port, meeting the storage needs of customers for export heavy containers.
To ensure the stability of the massive cargo sources, Guangzhou Port has innovated the "port + inland" linkage model, adding the Liuzhou Inland Port node. The total number of inland ports and offices has reached 35, covering regions such as Yunnan, Hunan, Guizhou, and Jiangxi. Expand the capacity of sea-rail intermodal trains and launch new channels such as the "Xiang-Guangdong-Africa Sea-Rail Intermodal Express Line" and the "Yangtze River Economic Belt - Southeast Asia" Maritime Silk Road e-commerce train. Goods from Hunan can reach Nansha, Guangzhou in one day, Vietnam in five days, and Thailand in seven days through nodes such as Zhuzhou and Hengyang.
Guangzhou Port currently operates 39 sea-rail intermodal train services and 74 shuttle bus routes, covering inland areas such as Hunan, Jiangxi and Sichuan. By building a three-dimensional network of the hinterland, it has transformed the tariff preferences of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) into the direct advantage of "inland factories - international ports".
