Based in Ningbo, SeaLead launches Far East India Djibouti route FID
On September 4, SeaLead announced the launch of its new direct liner service, the Far East India Djibouti (FID) route, which will commence operations on September 5, 2024.
The FID route, which will operate once a week, connects China, India and Djibouti, while extending SeaLead's reach to the Red Sea.
It is understood that the westbound route of the FID route starts from Shanghai and stops in Ningbo, Nansha, Port Klang, Colombo, Nawa Sheva and Mundra before arriving in Djibouti. The eastbound route will run directly from Djibouti to Shanghai.
SeaLead said a key feature of the route is that it runs direct from the Far East to Colombo and extends coverage to Djibouti, which is in line with SeaLead's expansion plans while improving trade efficiency and connectivity in these key regions.
Commenting on the new service, Suleyman Avci, Global CEO of SeaLead, said: "This service is a strategic step forward and strengthens our business capabilities in China, India and East Africa. By leveraging Djibouti's vital maritime hub to the Red Sea, we will provide greater coverage and ensure faster and more reliable connectivity for our customers, cementing SeaLead's role in shaping global trade."
The FID service is characterized by the strategic use of feeder routes from Djibouti to Jeddah, providing seamless access to key markets, while direct loop connections from the Far East to Colombo and the west Coast of India ensure reduced transport time and improved transport efficiency for customers.
