In August, the comprehensive service level of China's major ports improved, and the operating efficiency of major ports in Europe, the United States and along the routes was relatively stable.

According to statistics, in August, the operation efficiency of China's nine major ports improved, with the average stoppage time and stoppage time of ships in port being 1.29 days and 0.91 days, respectively, down 9.8% and up 4.6% from the previous month, which was better than the average stoppage time of container ships in port and stoppage time of other 11 major foreign ports (2.23 days and 1.93 days).

The overall operating efficiency of major ports in Europe, the United States and along the line was relatively stable, and the end of the month was slightly affected by the Canadian railway strike. Among them, the average stoppage time of ships in the European Port of Hamburg was 2.13 days, down 22.0% from the previous quarter. The Port of Rotterdam had an average of 2.13 days in port, down 4.9% from the previous month. The port of Long Beach, the main port in the West of the United States, averaged 4.77 days in port, an increase of 7.4%; The port of New York, the main port in the East of the United States, has an average of 1.87 days in port.

The index reflects the comprehensive efficiency of port facilities and equipment, pilotage, scheduling, loading and unloading, collection and distribution, and port clearance.

The berth time of a ship refers to the total time of a ship arriving at a berth for loading and unloading operations until it leaves the berth after completing operations. This index mainly reflects the handling efficiency of the port during the berthing period.
