The Federation of Truck Drivers' Associations in West Bengal, India, has announced that its members will hold a three-day strike action in the state from September 11 to 13. Because the strike is located in close proximity to Kolkata, India's second largest port facing the Bay of Bengal, the action will directly affect trucking operations to and from the port. As an important export hub for goods such as steel, machinery, jute (known as the "jute port" because of its high volume of exports) and grain, the logistics efficiency of Kolkata Port will be seriously affected.

International freight forwarding giant Kuehne & Nagel has issued a warning in advance, pointing out that during the strike, due to transport disruptions, the fulfillment of relevant orders and delivery of goods will face delays, reminding customers to prepare accordingly.
