Byd's second ro-ro ship "Changzhou" set sail for the UK
Recently, BYD Company's second ro-ro ship "BYD CHANGZHOU" (BYD "Changzhou") set sail from Yantai port in Shandong province, after carrying nearly 5,000 BYD new energy vehicles in Lianyungang and Taicang ports in Jiangsu province, it will sail to Bristol Port in the UK and Rotterdam Port in the Netherlands.

BYD CHANGZHOU

Byd Changzhou is built to the highest international standards. Like BYD's EXPLORER NO.1 (" Explorer 1 "), which made its maiden voyage on January 15, 2024, it is 199.9 meters long, has 7,000 standard parking Spaces and uses advanced LNG dual-fuel power technology. This environmentally friendly and efficient propulsion method reduces carbon emissions during transportation. The ship's design and technology represent a high level of Chinese manufacturing and can adapt to the needs of multiple routes.

Explorer 1 was built by CIMC Raffles for its partner Zodiac Maritime and leased by the owner to BYD as the first ship in BYD's "fleet to Sea". Previously, Zodiac Maritime ordered eight RO-ro ships capable of carrying 7,000 vehicles in CIMC and leased them to BYD at a total cost of nearly 5 billion yuan, of which six are basically determined to be built and the other two are option orders.

At the same time, BYD has also placed an order for two 7,000-car dual-fuel vehicle carriers from Guangzhou International, that is to say, the two shipyards in Yantai and Guangzhou will build up to 10 vehicle carriers for BYD.

Byd's second ro-ro ship

Byd's "Changzhou" car ro-ro carrier was launched in Yantai, Shandong Province, in October this year, which is BYD's second vehicle carrier named after the "Hefei", and is also the second ship in BYD's self-built fleet. The ship will further enhance the capacity of China's "national vehicle self-transport" and help domestic new energy vehicles accelerate to sea.

It is reported that BYD's Changzhou plant was officially put into operation in 2019, mainly producing Marine network model Seal and Dynasty network model Yuan PLUS, and is the "main producing area" of overseas ATTO 3.

In recent years, BYD has continuously accelerated its overseas business layout. Up to now, BYD new energy vehicles have entered 99 countries and regions around the world. As more ro-ro ships are put into use, BYD will further provide more high-quality, environmentally friendly new energy vehicle products to global consumers.

Statistics show that BYD exported a total of 30,977 vehicles in November, and the cumulative export sales from January to November this year have exceeded 350,000 vehicles.
