ONE has launched rail and maritime solutions in India
Ocean Network Shipping (ONE) has launched its rail and Marine solutions in Kolkata and Haldia, India.
It is understood that import and export cargoes can now be transported seamlessly via Balmer Lawrie CFS, utilising rail services to connect with mainline vessels at Nava Sheva Port. This enhanced connectivity ensures direct access to key global destinations, including the United States, Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa.
Key features of the new service include regular train departures from Balmer Lawrie CFS in Kolkata on Thursdays, cargo cutoff on Wednesdays, export cargoes transported by rail directly connected to mainline vessels at Nawa Sheva Port, import cargoes unloaded at Nawa Sheva Port and seamlessly transferred to Kolkata by rail, and export cargoes. Reduced waiting times for connecting trunk and feeder vessels at transshipment points such as Singapore, Port Klang and Colombo, and significantly improved point-to-point transit times, providing greater consistency and reliability to plan freight efficiently.
