On February 12, shipping company Maersk issued an operational notice for the port of Mombasa in Kenya, saying that in the past few weeks, due to higher than expected storage yard density and equipment challenges, vessels were delayed in berthing and departure.
In order to minimize the impact on customers, Maersk will work closely with port authorities and key stakeholders, while at the same time reminding customers of the relevant cutoff times for smooth loading.
Due to the challenges faced by the port, Maersk listed in the announcement the specific details of the resulting berths, routes and displacements may change.
