Freight rates have risen, and shipping companies have reduced the range of displacements
The latest shipping data released by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange shows that on April 3, the Shanghai export container comprehensive freight index released by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange was 1392.78 points, up 2.8% from the previous period

At the same time, Shanghai's exports to the basic port of Europe, the United States West, the United States East three major routes freight continued to rise, only the Mediterranean route freight is still slightly down.

The latest quotation published by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange shows:

On April 3, the freight rate (sea freight and sea surcharge) for exports from Shanghai port to European basic port market was 1336 US dollars /TEU, a slight increase of 1.4% compared with the previous period;

The freight rate (sea freight and sea surcharge) for exports from Shanghai port to the basic port market of West America is US $2,313 /FEU, up 6.2% from the previous period;

Shanghai port exports to the United States East basic port market freight (sea and sea surcharge) is 3306 US dollars /FEU, up 3.5% from the previous period;

Looking at the Mediterranean route, due to the weak supply and demand fundamentals, Shanghai port exports to the Mediterranean basic port market freight (sea and sea surcharges) fell 2.3% from the previous period to US $2,028 /TEU.

At the same time that freight rates have risen on the three main routes, shipping companies have also reduced the number of stoppages.

The latest cancellation tracking data from Drewry shows that over the next five weeks of Week 15 (April 7 to April 13) and Week 19 (May 5 to May 11), out of 718 scheduled sailings on major trans-Pacific, trans-Atlantic and Asia-East to North Europe and the Mediterranean, shipping lines announced a total of 57 cancellations, a cancellation rate of 8%

Compared with the data of the previous period of suspension and port jumping, the shipping company announced the cancellation of 11 fewer trips.

Drury predicts that over the next five weeks, the largest number of cancellations will be on trans-Pacific eastbound routes (53%), followed by transatlantic westbound routes (25%) and Asia-Nordic and Mediterranean routes (23%).
