Wan Hai Lines announced on August 14th the launch of the FM1 direct shipping service from the Far East to the Mediterranean.

According to Sungreen Logistics, the FM1 route is an upgraded version of the Asia-Red Sea Route 2 and made its maiden flight on September 12th.

This route will be provided with a 10-week turnaround service by vessels ranging from 4,300 to 5,000 TEUs. The port calling sequence of the route is: Shanghai - Ningbo - Nansha - Shekou - Port Klang - Jeddah - Aqaba - Sukhnai - (Suez Canal) - Alexandria - Izmet - Istanbul Region - (Suez Canal) - Sukhnai - Jeddah - Port Klang - Shekou - Shanghai.
