China's Ministry of Commerce: "Zero tariff" for 100% tax items from these countries

Zero tariffs for least developed countries


At a press conference of The State Council Information Office on the 23rd, an official of the Ministry of Commerce said that more measures will be taken to expand unilateral opening up to the least developed countries.

Tang Wenhong said that starting from December 1, 2024, the preferential tax rate of zero tariff rate will be applied to 100% of the products originating from the least developed countries that have diplomatic relations with China, and the Ministry of Commerce will work with relevant departments to support the relevant least developed countries to make full use of this preferential arrangement. At the same time, we will actively play the role of green channels for African products to be exported to China, carry out skills training and other means to support the development of cross-border e-commerce enterprises and foster new drivers of trade. Exhibitions such as the CIIE will be held to build platforms and Bridges for high-quality and featured products from the least developed countries to enter the Chinese market and connect with the world market.

Tang Wenhong, Assistant Minister of Commerce: There will be 37 least developed countries participating in the exhibition, and we will provide more than 120 free booths for these enterprises. The area of the African products area of the Expo will be further expanded, and African exhibitors will be organized to negotiate with Chinese buyers.
