Centering on this core topic, the reporter raised ten key questions to Mr. Mei Yang, aiming to provide the industry with practical and feasible best practice solutions and set up industry benchmarks for reference.

Personal Introduction

Mr. Mei Yang is from SHANGHAI SUNGREEN LOGISTICS GROUP CO.,LTD. Founder, a senior expert in the field of international logistics for new energy. As an industry expert holding multiple professional qualifications such as the Dangerous Goods Declarant of the Maritime Safety Administration, the Port Dangerous Goods Declarant of the Port and Shipping Business Center, and the Hazardous Chemicals Administrator of the Emergency Management Bureau, I have long been deeply engaged in the international logistics field of lithium batteries, electric vehicles, power tools and energy storage equipment, and am particularly skilled at providing global logistics transportation solutions for overweight and oversized energy storage cabinets.

I once participated in the formulation of the 5MWH energy storage cabinet container ship export plan at the Shanghai Port, pioneered the "full-chain logistics solution for overweight and oversized energy storage cabinets", and have successfully handled hundreds of large-scale energy storage cabinet export cases, accumulating a wealth of successful experience and industry connections. I have also established in-depth cooperation with many leading enterprises in the new energy industry. Help Chinese new energy products go global efficiently and in compliance with regulations. The Sungreen Logistics it founded has become a benchmark enterprise in new energy special logistics in East China, providing safe and efficient global logistics support for new energy products such as energy storage systems and electric vehicles. PART.01

Reporter: What technical and compliance challenges does the industry generally face when transporting 5MWH overweight and oversized energy storage cabinets? How does Sungreen Logistics' solution specifically break through these bottlenecks?

Mei Yang: With the continuous development of technology in the new energy industry, the energy density of energy storage systems is getting higher and higher. 5MWH energy storage cabinets are mostly presented as 20-foot high cabinets weighing around 43 tons. At present, export enterprises and freight forwarders mainly encounter problems in two aspects: the flow of goods and the flow of documents.

In terms of cargo flow, for domestic container road transportation and inbound transportation, if the total weight of the container exceeds the standard limit, an over-limit permit must be obtained. For inbound transportation, in addition to obtaining an over-limit permit, low-bed trucks must also be used. In response to this situation, Sungreen Logistics has been continuously integrating the supply chain system, introducing dozens of low-bed trucks holding over-limit certificates and dangerous goods road transportation licenses, and continuously serving the domestic road transportation and inbound transportation links of overweight and oversized energy storage cabinets.

In terms of document flow, Energy storage container export requires maritime declaration and port filing, and a series of materials such as UN38.3 reports and appraisal reports need to be provided. Many enterprises are neither familiar with nor have an understanding of the required materials and the institutions handling them. In response to this situation, Sungreen Logistics has broken down information barriers, contacted qualified official institutions and third-party institutions, and assisted enterprises in handling the above-mentioned materials for different products and projects, ensuring legal declaration and compliant shipment.

PART.02

Reporter: Odd Energy storage container export often encounters booking difficulties such as shipping company refusal to load and space matching when booking shipping space. It is hoped that Sungreen Logistics can explain how to solve them?

Mei Yang: Since the container Spaces on container ships are divided according to each 40-foot standard container, currently, high-energy-density energy storage cabinets are gradually being transported in the form of 20HQ containers. If the energy storage cabinets are shipped in an even number, then every two energy storage cabinets can exactly occupy one space on the ship, making it easier for shipping companies to accept them. If the energy storage cabinets are shipped in odd numbers, they cannot be matched for shipment, and many shipping companies will refuse to accept them.

The breakthrough of Sungreen Logistics lies in its forward-looking layout of booking channels and supply chain resources. Because we have maintained continuous and stable cooperation with many leading enterprises in the energy storage industry. Sungreen Logistics, with its continuous, stable and large volume of shipments as well as its professional and efficient negotiation team, has purchased a large number of shipping Spaces on mainstream routes. When the energy storage cabinets dispatched by the consignor are an odd number of 20HQ, Sungreen Logistics can quickly and efficiently integrate supply chain resources and cargo sources to meet the consignor's dispatch requirements in the shortest time. This way, not only can the shipping space be booked in time to ensure the smooth shipment of the goods, but also the transportation cost can be effectively reduced.

PART.03

Reporter: As the first participant in the export process of 5MWH overweight and oversized Energy storage container, in your opinion, what aspects of the current industry standards still need to be improved urgently?

Mei Yang: Sungreen Logistics, as one of the deep participants and solution formulators in the export process of the first batch of 5MWH energy storage cabinet container ships at the Shanghai Port, we deeply feel that the industry standards need to be accelerated and unified.

Firstly, 5MWH energy storage cabinets have the characteristics of a large number of one-time export cabinets and heavy weight of individual cabinets. In the face of the sharp increase in the export volume of this new product, many shipping companies currently do not have unified approval and loading standards. For the same shipping company, the approval and loading standards vary for different routes, different periods of the same route, and different voyages of the same period. The human determining factor is relatively large. It is hoped that shipping companies can establish clear, transparent and queryable standards and approval procedures for the loading of overweight containers in the future to reduce human uncertainties.

Secondly, it is hoped that each terminal can also issue standardized operation guidelines for the inbound scheduling of overweight containers, over-limit approval, direct loading upon entry, and quay crane operations, etc., to enhance the overall operation efficiency and safety.

PART.04

Reporter: Regarding the 5MWH overweight and oversized Energy storage container export solution, could you elaborate on the innovation points and highlights of this solution?

Mei Yang: The greatest innovation lies in the pioneering and realization of the "end-to-end" full-chain integration. From the domestic road transportation of overweight and over-sized goods picking up from factories, to the complex maritime declaration and port registration of dangerous goods, to the pioneering solution to the booking problem of odd-numbered energy storage cabinets, then to the transportation of overweight and over-sized low-bed trucks into ports, to direct loading at the ship's side and quay crane operations, and then to overseas customs clearance and tax payment, overseas road surveys and the processing of over-sized road permits, etc. Sungreen Logistics has truly achieved the provision of end-to-end, one-stop seamless connection services, completely solving the pain points of multiple contacts and low efficiency for customers.

Sungreen Logistics has a large amount of operational experience and practical cases. We use the system to present our operational experiences and practical cases in a data-driven way. For instance, our booking efficiency is 80% higher than that of our peers, the timeliness of port affairs filing is 50% ahead of our peers, and the filing approval rate is as high as 100%, etc. At the same time, we integrate our numerous operational experiences and practical cases into standardized operation procedures through the big data model and achieve replicable effects. In this way, we can infinitely replicate one case of one client to numerous projects of many other clients, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and the probability of success. In addition, we have reserved scalable and extendable ports for this standardized operation process. In this way, we can adapt to the export logistics demands of energy storage enterprises for 6MWH, 7MWH or even 9MWH in the shortest time and at the fastest speed in the future.

PART.05

Reporter: When exporting overweight and oversized Energy storage containers to different destination ports, how to deal with the differences in the import policies of new energy products among various countries? Which barriers are worth being vigilant about?

Mei Yang: Currently, global new energy policies are changing rapidly, and trade barriers are emerging one after another. The core strategy of Sungreen Logistics is "moving the checkpoint forward and precisely controlling risks".

With the rise and strengthening of China's new energy forces, all countries are trying to prevent Chinese new energy enterprises and products from entering their domestic markets through trade wars and tariff wars. Like the equivalent tariffs of the Trump administration in the United States, new energy products are excluded from the exemption list. Similarly, the EU battery Law has made specific requirements for the carbon footprint declaration of batteries and battery passports. Sungreen Logistics, relying on its global cooperative agency network and professional regulatory research team, tracks policy changes in politics, economy, trade and tariffs in key markets in real time. For each shipment of new energy products received by Sungreen Logistics, the product information and HS number will be confirmed with the consignor in advance, and the import tax types, tax rates and qualification certifications will be confirmed simultaneously at the destination port and the customs clearance agency. Make sure all the necessary documents and certifications are prepared before shipment to avoid potential penalties and additional charges at the destination port.

PART.06

Reporter: Foreign countries are highly dependent on energy storage cabinets made in China, which also indicates that the capacity of energy storage cabinets will continue to increase. What forward-looking preparations do we need to make?

Mei Yang: Challenges are opportunities! Shunxin Logistics has already taken precautions and made active plans for this.

At present, many leading enterprises in the energy storage industry have begun to release 6MWH and 7MWH energy storage cabinets. Catl even released a 9MWH energy storage cabinet at the Munich exhibition in early May, which may weigh up to 72 tons. With the rapid development of the energy storage industry, the export volume is increasing. As a supporting international logistics and transportation link, we cannot fix our perception and focus on the weight of around 43 tons with a capacity of 5MWH. We should actively coordinate with upstream and downstream parties, integrate supply chain resources, and quickly break through the weight limit in every link such as booking space and vessel allocation, road transportation, maritime declaration, port filing, direct loading at the port, and hoisting onto ships, to assist Chinese new energy enterprises and products in smoothly going global.

PART.07

Reporter: What do you think is the most urgent shortcoming that Chinese new energy enterprises need to make up for in terms of export logistics?

Mei Yang: First of all, many new energy enterprises have insufficient understanding of the complexity of international logistics. Although the international logistics industry is a traditional one, it does have numerous laws, regulations, industry standards and norms, and many of its contents are constantly being updated and changed. We cannot view an industry that is constantly developing and changing with an unchanging perspective.

Secondly, the supply chain management systems of some new energy export enterprises are weak. As an emerging industry, the new energy sector has a large export volume and heavy export weight. Many export enterprises overly rely on traditional and single logistics providers, which makes it impossible to meet the diversified and varied export logistics demands of overweight and oversized goods.

PART.08

Reporter: Sungreen Logistics has successfully handled hundreds of export cases of ultra-large energy storage cabinets. We believe that it has accumulated rich experience in this process. In your opinion, what are the most easily overlooked issues when new energy goes global?

Mei Yang: The biggest problem lies in the lag of the logistics and transportation plan.

The new energy industry, as an emerging sector, is developing extremely rapidly. The capacity of energy storage cabinets can be continuously increased through technological iterations. Many enterprises focus on product research and development and production, and only consider logistics and transportation solutions when the products come off the production line. As a result, they often face the predicament of difficulty in securing shipping space, soaring costs, and even being unable to ship due to compliance issues. Sungreen Logistics strongly recommends: Logistics should take the lead before the troops move. During the product design and finalization stage, professional logistics partners are introduced to conduct transportation feasibility assessment and scheme design. This can maximize risk avoidance, optimize costs, ensure immediate delivery of products upon market launch, and significantly enhance international competitiveness. Our in-depth cooperation with leading clients precisely begins with this close collaboration in the early stage of the project.

PART.09

Reporter: The development of new energy is a trend. In the future, exporting new energy equipment will also be a major direction. However, at the same time, it is facing challenges such as shortage of transportation capacity and incomplete regulations. How will your company break through the deadlock?

Mei Yang: Container ships and container terminals do have many restrictions in transporting large quantities of overweight and oversized energy storage cabinets. Although many relevant units are actively making improvements, they are still somewhat lagging behind in the face of new energy enterprises that emphasize efficiency and results.

Sungreen Logistics actively coordinates various resources and is currently also capable of providing bulk carrier resources and solutions for large-scale overweight and oversized Energy storage container exports.

PART.10

Reporter: We have noticed that Sungreen Logistics has been continuously expanding its business scope in the past two years and actively laying out overseas markets. Will your company extend its logistics services to the entire industrial chain of energy storage in the future?

Mei Yang: Sungreen Logistics has been actively laying out overseas markets since 2016. Currently, we have long-term cooperative dangerous goods agents in major countries and economic regions around the world, and can provide full-chain services such as customs clearance, tax payment, warehousing, distribution and delivery for new energy dangerous goods.

In the future, Sungreen Logistics will successively build overseas warehouses for dangerous goods in the United States, the European Union, Australia, South Africa and other places in the form of branches, providing more high-quality and competitive services for new energy products exported from China to the above-mentioned countries and regions.
