Kuehne+Nagel warned of significant delays in rail container traffic between the area around Parma and nearby ports
On July 15, Kuehne & Nagel, the world's largest maritime freight forwarder, announced that Italy had closed the area around Parma due to railway accidents that damaged railway infrastructure.

Rail container traffic in the area around Parma and nearby ports will be severely delayed and limited

Kuehne + Nagel expects significant delays and restrictions in rail container traffic between the area around Parma and nearby ports until July 21. Rail traffic in the region is expected to be disrupted until September 9.

As a result, rail traffic to and from the port of Genoa has also been adjusted, including:

- PSA Genoa Pra Terminal:
From July 6 to August 4, loading and unloading of 40-foot tall boxes will be limited.
From 10 August to 18 August, rail transport was interrupted, with only truck transport between Genoa and Milan.

- PSA Sech Terminal:
From August 5 to September 8, rail traffic was interrupted, and all cargo to and from the docks was transported by truck.

- GPT Terminal:
From August 5 to September 8, rail traffic was suspended.
From July 26, rail pick-up/delivery services will no longer be accepted, and all goods entering and leaving the terminal will be transported by truck.

In addition, Kuehne & Nagel also said that the inland terminals near Milan (not limited to the area) are currently congested. Given the reduction in rail traffic at the port of Genoa, delays in cargo are expected.
