An increase of 5.10%, Guangzhou Port achieved revenue of 6.762 billion yuan in the first half of the year
On the evening of August 28, Guangzhou Port Co., LTD. (referred to as "Guangzhou Port", 601228) released the semi-annual report for 2024. In the first half of the year, the operating income of Guangzhou Port was 6.762 billion yuan, an increase of 328 million yuan, or 5.10%; Net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 605 million yuan, down 5.11% year-on-year; Non-net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 629 million yuan, an increase of 13.98%.

In terms of main financial indicators, the basic earnings per share of Guangzhou Port from January to June was 0.08 yuan, down 4.76% year-on-year, and the weighted average return on net assets was 2.96%, down 0.28 percentage points from the same period last year.

As a larger-scale and fully-functional terminal operator in South China, Guangzhou Port has the berthing capacity of large ships, a complete comprehensive cargo handling system and supporting facilities. Its cargo throughput and container throughput continue to be among the top ports in the world, and its container operation efficiency ranks among the leading ports in the world. Guangzhou Port cooperates with world-renowned liner companies, with container liner routes covering major ports in China and the world, and shipping to more than 400 ports in more than 100 countries and regions. The port area is seamlessly connected with the national railway, highway and inland river transportation network, and has the advantage of efficient, convenient and low-cost multimodal transport. At present, Guangzhou Port has become an important hub of the national comprehensive transport system and the main transfer port of energy materials and raw materials in Guangdong Province, as well as an international container trunk port and a core hub port of the African route.

In the first half of the year, Guangzhou Port completed a cargo throughput of 280 million tons, an increase of 1.7%, and a container throughput of 12.423 million TEU, an increase of 6.7%. Among them, the volume of foreign trade boxes increased by 15.8% year-on-year. Coal, grain, steel, pulp and paper goods all achieved growth, and foreign trade exports of automobile goods increased by 22.9%. In the first half of the year, Guangzhou Port had a net increase of 5 foreign trade liner routes, and by the end of June 2024, there were 212 container liner routes, including 167 foreign trade routes. Nansha Port area has opened up 196 liner routes, of which 161 foreign trade routes. Nansha Port area continues to maintain the status of the largest domestic maritime port for some imported fruits.

Guangzhou Port actively strives for the policy support of sea-rail combined transport business, improves capacity and efficiency, exerts the marketing effectiveness of each network, and goes all out to speed up the volume. Shuttle bus transport capacity and services, stable domestic trade containers and bulk imports of basic plates, enhance the linkage with ports in the Pearl River Delta, and enhance the radiation capacity of Nansha Port area. The North district of the logistics center promotes the import "first dismantle and then report" and export "first check and then install" modes to help accelerate the customs clearance efficiency of the integrated business. Logistics center south to ensure the efficiency of cold chain inspection, actively marketing import and export frozen products, fruit supplies. The Bay Area One-Port Link has been in regular operation at 16 regional terminals, and the operational efficiency and benefits of the "Two Bay Express" have been continuously improved. Strengthening the construction of "Qiansui", "Yusui" and "Xiangdong-Guangfei" channels, and the construction of sea-land two-way channels has reached a new level. Key projects have made phased progress: the Nansha Port Area international general terminal project has been promoted according to schedule, and strive to have the conditions for the construction of the main structure of the water industry by the end of the year. Nansha Port grain and general purpose terminal silo phase III project is fully advanced. Wharf renovation and expansion work has been steadily carried out: progress has been made in the renovation and expansion project of berth 1-5 of Xinshagang District, the release project of reserved hydraulic structure grade capacity of Xiaohu Petrochemical Wharf, the approval of berthing capacity of Jianyang Wharf, and the demonstration of the berthing capacity of 120,000-ton bulk cargo ships at berth 2# of Bohe Wharf of Maoming Port. Solid progress of regional collaborative projects: the first phase of the white soil operation area of Shaoguan Port Beijiang Port Area has been completed and accepted, and has entered the initial stage of operation; Maoming Port Bohe New Port Area general terminal project (Phase 2) progress smoothly; Jieyang General terminal project, LPG, liquid bulk cargo terminal project orderly progress.

At the same time, Guangzhou Port accelerated the construction of key information projects for smart ports, fully completed the construction of Nansha Bay smart service and customs clearance platform, smart production safety and environmental protection management system, procurement platform, and technical management system, and passed the project acceptance. Logistics company business management system, commercial vehicle business management system, employee intelligence service platform, activity cost management system, self-developed GZTOS, production business system business contract and billing function upgrade and other projects have been delivered for trial operation, cloud computing data center computer room sub-project and database cloud platform sub-project have completed construction, use and acceptance. The self-developed bulk cargo terminal operating system GZBOS has been deployed in Baitu Port of Shaoguan, and the digital transformation of the port has achieved new results. Nansha Phase 4 fully automated terminal, as a pilot project of "hub service efficiency improvement" transportation power construction in Guangdong Province, passed the acceptance of the Ministry of Transport in May.
