Fraudulent practices for CMA CGM customers


Recently, CMA CGM Group (CMA CGM) issued a notice that a hacker used the identity of CMA CGM Group to communicate with its customers via email, claiming that the bank account information has been changed, requiring customers to pay to the hacker's account, in order to commit fraud.

CMA CGM Announcement

Cma CGM's announcement shows that the hacker's operation process may be as follows:

1. The hacker may intercept the real communication information between the customer and CMA CGM Group, replace the email address of CMA CGM Group with a fake email address, impersonate CMA CGM staff to continue the email exchange with the customer, and let the customer pay the money to the hacker's account.

2. Hackers may call customers directly or contact them through abnormal channels (such as social networks), claiming that they need immediate payment due to personal illness, emergency, financial difficulties, etc.

Cma CGM reminds customers that they should be on high alert if they encounter the above situations, and that CMA CGM does not provide bank account information in their daily services, and their bank account information is only indicated on the CMA CGM invoice.

Cma CGM also emphasizes that if a customer receives such a request, do not reply or forward it and report this information to the local CMA CMA CMA Contact.
