The number of China-Europe freight trains exceeded 100,000, delivering over 11 million TEus of goods
On November 15, 2024, with the departure of the X8083 China-Europe train (Chongqing-Duisburg) from Chongqing Tuanjiecun Station, it marked that the total number of China-Europe train services exceeded 100,000, sending more than 11 million TEU of goods and the value of goods exceeded 420 billion US dollars.
Born in 2013 and unified in 2016, the China-Europe train is running faster and better.
The channel network continues to expand. At present, China's railway authorities have laid out plans for 93 China-Europe train routes with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour, connecting 125 cities in China. China-europe Express trains have reached 227 cities in 25 European countries and more than 100 cities in 11 Asian countries, with a service network covering the entire Eurasian continent.
The quality of operation has steadily improved. From the unified brand in 2016 to 2023, the annual number of China-Europe express trains increased from 1,702 to more than 17,000, an increase of nearly 10 times. The time required to start a 10,000 train has been reduced from 90 months at the beginning to six months now. Since March this year, the number of monthly bank openings has exceeded 1,600 for eight consecutive months.
There has been a substantial increase in the range of goods. The annual value of goods transported by China-Europe freight trains has increased from US $8 billion in 2016 to US $56.7 billion in 2023. Since the beginning of this year, the value of goods transported has reached US $58 billion, and the categories of goods have increased to more than 50,000 kinds in 53 categories. In particular, the proportion of high-tech and high value-added goods has increased year by year.
