On December 10, 2024, Orient Overseas (OOCL) announced the launch of a new China-Lim Chabang (CHL2) route to strengthen connectivity between China and Thailand, with the new route set to make its maiden flight from Shanghai on January 10, 2025.

Oocl said that the new CHL2 route is to further optimize OOCL's route network between East China, South China and Thailand, provide competitive transit times, and enhance the reliability of the CHL series routes. CHL2 is tailored to meet the growing needs of these dynamic markets.
