Today, Star Shipping announced that it has joined the multi-industry alliance "Move to -15°C", which aims to reduce carbon emissions in the cold chain sector by increasing the standard temperature of frozen cargo from -18°C to -15°C.
According to the report, this change can reduce about 17.7 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.
With its advanced cold box shipping advantages and exclusive ZIMonitor service, Estar is able to provide real-time monitoring to ensure optimal cold chain conditions. In view of this, "Move to -15°C" is fully aligned with ESTAR's sustainability vision.
David Arbel, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, ESTAR, said: "As part of ESTAR's commitment to ESG, we are advancing sustainable solutions to reduce the environmental impact of the shipping industry. We are proud to join this alliance, which will make cold chain logistics greener and more cost-effective."
According to the official website of the "Move to 15°C" alliance, since its inception, the alliance has received support from leading global shipping, logistics and trading companies, including AJC Group, Maersk, Daikin, DP World and others.
