DHL Supply Chain acquips Inmar Supply Chain
DHL Group, the global freight forwarding giant, today announced that its DHL Supply Chain unit has completed the acquisition of Inmar Supply Chain Solutions, a company owned by Inmar Intelligence. Is a well-known reverse logistics (return processing) solution provider.

DHL Supply Chain said that upon completion of the strategic acquisition, it will become the largest reverse logistics solutions provider in North America. DHL Group believes that through the acquisition, the group's key industry areas such as e-commerce and retail will achieve rapid growth.

According to the announcement, DHL Supply Chain currently has more than 520 warehouses and 52,000 employees in North America. The acquisition is expected to add 14 new return centers and 800 new employees, further expanding its presence in North America. In addition, DHL Supply Chain will strengthen its return processing capabilities, covering areas such as product secondary sales, recall management and supply chain performance analysis.

According to the analysis report of Fortune Business Insight, the global reverse logistics market size was $801.64 billion in 2024 and is expected to grow to $1,166.81 billion by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.8% during the 2024-2032 period.

DHL says returns have become an increasingly important part of the e-commerce market, given its rapid growth. The acquisition of Inmar Supply Chain, a reverse logistics solutions provider, will enrich DHL's customer value-added services, providing a total solution from sales to returns for customers' complex supply chain needs.

Commenting on the acquisition, Oscar de Bok, Global CEO of DHL Supply Chain, said: "DHL Supply Chain's market leading position in logistics, combined with Inmar Supply Chain's return package and talented workforce, will enable us to provide best-in-class logistics services to our customers."

Patrick Kelleher, CEO of DHL Supply Chain North America, further added, "The strategic growth opportunities presented by reverse logistics will strengthen DHL Supply Chain. The acquisition will also support the DHL Group's revenue growth plan, which aims to increase revenue by 50% in 2030 compared to 2023."

The core need for returns management is to drive sustainability, and Inmar Supply Chain's technology-driven reverse logistics solutions, which reduce costs and waste from returns, are widely recognized in the industry.
DHL Group also stressed that the acquisition of the Inmar supply chain will also contribute to its strategic goal of decarbonizing its business by 2050.
