Increase to European FAK rates
Hapag-roth increased the Integrated Freight rate (FAK) on the Far East-Europe route, including the fuel return charge (MFR) and the peak season surcharge (PSS), involving the Northern Europe, Adriatic, Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean, Black Sea and other regions, applicable to dry and refrigerated containers, will be implemented from March 1, 2025.
Upgraded Asia/Oceania to Africa GRI
Hapag-lloyd has also increased the Asia/Oceania-Africa Consolidated Rate Increase Surcharge (GRI) for dry, refrigerated and special containers to $300 /TEU, effective March 1, 2025.
The geographical scope of this rate adjustment is specified as follows: Departure (Asia and Oceania) : Including Brunei, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, And Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna Islands
Destinations (Africa) : Covering Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Cote d 'Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Democratic Republic of), Angola, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania
Upgraded Asia to Oceania GRI
Hapag-lloyd has announced an upcoming increase in the Consolidated Rate Increase surcharge (GRI) for shipments from Asia to Oceania in 20 and 40 foot dry cargo (and reefer) containers, including 40 foot high containers. This GRI applies to all containers shipped from 1 March 2025 onwards and will remain valid until further notice.
From (Asia) : Brunei, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
Destinations (Oceania) : Including Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna Islands.

This GRI applies to all containers shipped from 1 March 2025 onwards and will remain in effect until further notice.
The geographical range of the upward adjustment is specified as follows: From (Asia and Oceania) : It covers Brunei, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, WA Leith and Futuna Islands

Indian Subcontinent and Middle East to North America GRI revised upwards
Hapag-lloyd has announced a General Rate Increase (GRI)/ General Rate Adjustment (GRA) for shipments of 20 - and 40-foot dry, refrigerated and special containers, including high cubic equipment, from the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East to North America. This GRI/GRA adjustment applies to all containers shipped in full from March 15, 2025 until further notice.
