Finnish logistics giant Hacklin acquires short-haul operator Nordic Chartering
Finnish logistics giant Hacklin Group recently announced that it has acquired a significant stake in domestic short-haul transport operator Nordic Chartering, expanding its footprint in the logistics sector.
Hacklin joining Nordic Chartering as a shareholder will also provide a solid foundation for future ship investments. The two companies operate in different logistics industries and will continue to operate under their own brands.
Hacklin is a family-owned company founded in 1908 and headquartered in Pori Port, Finland. Hacklin Group has grown into a global service provider offering a wide range of freight forwarding and logistics services. Today, Hacklin Group's companies in Helsinki, Hamina, Kotka, Hong Kong and Shanghai specialize in Finland's project cargo, freight forwarding, warehousing services and efficient logistics solutions for bulk handling.
In addition, Hacklin invested in its first ship more than 100 years ago. The latest shipping business to fly the Hacklin company flag is the container feeder service between Finland and Hamburg operated by Hacklin Seatrans from 1986 to 2018.
The acquisition of the two will create a strong partnership between the two companies and bring added value to customers.
